1/35 Israeli Army M1 Super Sherman by Tamiya

After its establishment in 1948, Israel acquired surplus M4 Sherman tanks from Western nations, making them the backbone of its army. In the 1950s, to counter Arab T34/85s, Israel introduced M4A1 Shermans equipped with 76mm M1 cannons, dubbed 'Super Sherman' to distinguish them from previous 75mm models. These tanks featured rounded cast hulls, star-shaped air-cooled gasoline engines, and vertical volute spring suspension (VVSS) on many units. They first saw combat in the 1956 Suez Crisis, demonstrating their prowess in the Sinai desert, and continued to serve in subsequent conflicts, with some remaining in use until the 1970s.
