Ketsugo Goju-Ryu Karate Do, Vol. 1: Shodai Jay Trombley (Color Edition)

Ketsugo Goju-Ryu Karate-Do, Vol. 1: Shodai Jay Trombley describes the legacy of a martial artist who founded the Ketsugo Goju-Ryu system in 1974. Since then, only thirty-one individuals have earned senior black belts in the system. Shodai received a black belt from Seikichi Toguchi in 1960 while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps on Okinawa. He went on to create his own system in America, developing many original kata, two-man exercises, and other training methods. This book aims to capture Shodai's thoughts, history, and the perspectives of those who knew him. His influence on karate is evident in his unique approach, which combines elements of Shoreikan Goju-Ryu, Kobudo, Western boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo. The narrative also explores Shodai's Marine Corps background and emphasizes the importance of preserving and passing on his karate legacy. Read more
